Description

It starts with a flicker. The burn within that pushes us to strive for what we deserve, to crack the glass ceiling, to break through the metal bars and to make our mark. A fire struggles to flourish on its own, but as it spreads, it becomes unstoppable. Follow Princess Lana on her journey to take her flame and spread it like a roaring fire through the bush. We are unstoppable together. Feel the Flame written by a young author, illustrates

Author:

My name is Lochana Radaliyagoda, I’m 17 years old and the author of Feel the Flame. As a dancing teacher my life is filled with bubbly little women, they often tell stories about their lives and various adventures they take part in, but as they get to that chapter that they are most passionate about, a glimmer in their eyes begins to shine. Feel the Flame was written to nurture that glimmer, to let it inspire others and bring together a community of people, young and wise, who now let their once little glimmer of passion and strength burn through them.

Illustrator:

Juliette Dudley is an illustrator and graphic designer based in Canberra, Australia. She is experienced working in a wide range of media, favouring digital, watercolour, pen and ink. Her work takes inspiration from many sources including nature, science fiction, video games, fashion, music, pop-culture, history, travel and food. Juliette has worked as a freelance illustrator on a wide range of projects including book covers, city guides, live art, brand identity, and surface pattern design. Feel the Flame will be Juliette’s second published children’s book, following her collaboration with Canberra author Samantha Tidy on Our Bush Capital. Juliette is a proud feminist and believes strongly in the power of books as a platform for building confidence, creativity and ambition in children of all genders.
