Kate Harvey has lived in Western Australia her whole life. She is a mining engineer and the mother of a two-year-old daughter and has spent the past 18 years working on mine sites. Now based in Perth, she misses seeing the big equipment in action. This is her second title, following the success of The Little Book of Mining.
Illustrator:
Mel Corrigan is a Melbourne-based illustrator with an architect-trained eye for detail. She creates her work using a mix of hand-drawn and digital techniques. She loves working with traditional media such as watercolour and coloured pencils, and more recently has enjoyed illustrating digitally using Procreate. Raising her young family has rekindled her love of picture books. She is interested in capturing the playfulness and imagination of children and finds inspiration in the little things, the everyday joys and interactions that colour our days.
