Author:
Tracy is a passionate primary and early childhood educator who has dedicated her career to nurturing a love of learning in young children. Growing up as a lover of nature and all things magical, Tracy quickly became a creative storyteller, finding the magic in everyday moments. Now a mother of two, she was inspired to write her debut picture book, Mum Magic, to celebrate the invisible thread of love and wonder that connects a mother to her children. When she isn’t teaching or writing, Tracy enjoys creating new memories with her family, especially at the beach where the rhythm of the waves often sparks her best ideas.
Illustrator:
Tess graduated from The University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Teaching and Bachelor of Fine Art and is currently a Lead Artist Educator at the National Gallery of Australia in Kamberri/Canberra. When she is not supporting learners to develop meaningful connections with works of art she can be found absorbed in historical fiction or bushwalking with her family. As a printmaker, Tess favours the graphic medium of vinyl linocut. She then handcolours the limited edition prints with watercolour paint, which often depict the animal and plant life of the Canberra region. She also enjoys the versatile combination of pencil and watercolour when illustrating children’s books as it gives her artwork a structured yet expressive quality. Tess has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions, locally and interstate, with her work being shown in the National Archives of Australia, Belconnen Arts Centre and Megalo Print Studio and Gallery.
