Alana Kate is a first-time author from South Australia. A lifelong student at heart and a passionate clinical nurse, she loves learning new skills and sharing what she learns with others. When she’s not working, she can always be found enjoying the company of her precious dogs, Hank and Maggie. As the centre of her world, they have filled her life with endless joy (and mischief!) over their years together, and she’s excited to share some of their adventures with her readers.

Maia Batumashvili was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, in 1978. From a young age, Maia has loved to draw and is inspired by the children’s books and cartoons she grew up with. After graduating from two art institutes, Maia worked on an animation project before finally realising her dream of illustrating children’s books. When Maia is not creating imaginative worlds, she enjoys spending time with her three beautiful children and her dog, Tayo.
