At thirteen, Yvonne felt the first agonising clawing at her insides that came with her first period. It was the start of a silent, unseen battle.



For seventeen years, she endured the physical and emotional trauma of a disease she didn’t know she had. When a diagnosis of stage four endometriosis finally came, it did little to end the war raging within her.



Determined never to be defined by the disease, Yvonne fought back. A fight that became a form of self-destruction. Time and again, she pushed her ailing body to its limits to shield her family and to pursue a career she refused to surrender.
