Adjusting to a new sibling in the family is sometimes difficult at best. The main character in I Was Born to Be a Brother by Zaydek Michels-Gualtieri explores, rejects, and finally accepts the fact that his little sister will remain a part of his family circle. The illustrations are rich with clever details, and the funny, insightful text is engaging to the young reader. A companion CD presents a toe-tapping song in addition to the story narration--making it a perfect addition to a classroom listening center. Also, a supplemental Activity Guide offers extra support for the teacher/parent to make this charming story a total package to be enjoyed by all.
