Description

Teresa Moorehouse's "narrative sculptures" tell deep, often timeless stories in cold cast bronze, with patinas of copper, silver, or gold. Some draw on traditional myths or legends. Others discover new voices for contemporary experience of spiritual mysteries. Her images weave a language of symbols that surpasses logic and speaks directly to intuition and spirit. Her introductory words lead us by the hand into each sculpture's magical world. Stunning photos on elegant full-color 2-page spreads render the art vividly.

Teresa Moorehouse is a traveling sculptor and storyteller currently based in Ithaca, New York, and Jupiter, Florida. She was born in Canandaigua, NY, in 1944 and studied at New Paltz State University, Buffalo State University, and Cornell University.

"Teresa Moorehouse creates narrative bas reliefs that are as beautiful as they are intriguing. Her pieces ... speak of cosmic forces and the indomitable power of artistic expression in talented hands." -- B Harris, Metropolitan, Museum of Art
