Description

Extraordinary Art Experiences introduces readers to a variety of institutions, many of which began as private collections. Art lovers can find them inside converted industrial warehouses or in structures designed by star architects, or even in homes left intact for visitors to see how collectors lived with their art. World class curators fill their exhibition calendars with innovative shows in every medium from painting to sculpture to performance and photography. The art is borrowed and loaned, just like that in the larger public institutions.

Linda Fischbach's qualifications to write on this topic begin with her website Art Privee which lists private art museums, collections, and foundations that are open to the public nationally and internationally. Her mission is to enable art enthusiasts to locate and uncover essential information on art collections all over the world. Art Privee has received thousands of emails from individuals with expressed interest in gaining further information on this topic. Fischbach has a Masters in Library Science from UCLA, a Masters in Contemporary Art and the Market from Christie's Education, and a Certificate in American Art from Sotheby's Institute. She has traveled with the Guggenheim International Director's Council for over twenty-five years, visiting the most significant private collections and museums in North America, Asia, and Europe, as well as a great deal of traveling on her own. Additionally, Fischbach was one of the first producers of the HBO groundbreaking documentary The Price of Everything, which uncovered the complexity and intricacy of the contemporary art market. She divides her time between her homes in New York City, The Hamptons, and Palm Beach.
