Cheryl A. Kirk-Duggan is an African American womanist theologian; a professor, author, and poet; and an elder in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. She is professor emerita of religion and womens studies, as well as director of Womens Studies, at Shaw University Divinity School. Tina Pippin is the Wallace M. Alston Professor of Bible and Religion at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA. She was a member of The Bible and Culture Collective that co-authored The Postmodern Bible. She is also the co-editor with Cheryl Kirk-Duggan of Mother Goose, Mother Jones, Mommie Dearest: Biblical Mothers and Their Children along with other publications on apocalyptic, the Bible, and film studies. Pippin is the first recipient of the American Academy of Religions Excellence in Teaching Award and is President-Elect of the Society of Biblical Literature (2025-2026). She is an activist-educator and also co-hosts a radical pedagogy podcast Nothing Never Happens with Lucia Hulsether.
