Description

Tom Rademacher has spent the last two decades devoted to students and education. As an acquisitions editor, he acquires, develops, and sometimes writes books with the goal of helping educators do the hard work of teaching well. He's the author of It Won't Be Easy and Raising Ollie and has written for Huffington Post, Education Post, City Pages, and more. As an educator, Tom was named Minnesota's 2014 Teacher of the Year, spoke at national conferences and TEDx events, and was interviewed by the BBC, the Associated Press, and Education Week. Before that, he mostly wrote bad poetry and talked about Kurt Cobain. He lives too close to the Mall of America in Minnesota with his wife, son, and absolute chonk of a dog.

"Tom Rademacher is not asking you to give up your tech. What he does is make a convincing case for carving out intentional time for the analog, for the experiences we can't get from our devices—real books and paper, face-to-face activities, paint and cardboard, physical movement. As we spend more and more time behind screens, the strategies in this refreshing book are exactly what we need to nurture what's human in all of us."
