Dorothy Balancio, Ph.D. earned her sociology degree at City University of New York and pursued negotiation studies at Harvard and conflict resolution at Columbia University. She is a professor and program director at Mercy University with a deep commitment to conflict management shaped by the loss of her son Louis to violence. Dr. Balancio also serves as director of the Louis Balancio Scholarship Fund, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to encouraging the art of dispute resolution.
